A Houston, Texas, man was shot dead after a police officer responded to a 911 call. Now, last Wednesday the family of a man killed during that police shooting released the video footage that was recorded, showing the last minutes of Michael Blair.

Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a 911 call back on November 4th, 2013. Blair, a diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic, had threatening suicide and locked himself in a bathroom. That’s when deputies arrived.

The officers first knocked on the door to ask Blair how he was doing. After Blair refused to answer, one officer in particular threatened that if he didn’t answer the door, he would “kick it in.”

“Michael? You want to do this the easy way, don’t make us do it the hard way,” the video records one officer barking at Blair through the door.

A second officer managed to pick the lock of the door. After cracking the door just slightly, that officer yelled: “He’s got a knife!”

Blair slammed the door closed, but in the scuffle, he was hit numerous times with a stun gun. He never dropped the knife, which had been procured to potentially hurt himself. He never threatened officers with the knife.

After being stunned repeatedly, Blair stumbles. One officer yells again for him to drop the knife, and then unloads on him.

The deputy fired no less than 11 times. Even after Blair had collapsed to the ground, the same deputy continued to shoot him. Blair’s family can be heard screaming inconsolably in the background.
