‘Liberator’ Comic Book Tells Of Vigilante Justice For Abused Animals, Profits Fund Dog Rescue

A new comic book called Liberator has hit the stands. The creator, Matt Miner explains that the series is about masked vigilantes who save animals by paying back abusers with vigilante justice. Miner explains that the proceeds of the comic book have been going to fund animal rescue operations of the much more legal variety.

The proceeds  go to fund a dog rescue operation Miner started with his wife, Sloane Quealy-Miner. Miner says that this is where his real-world efforts lie, having rescued around 50 abused or abandoned dogs in his Queens, N.Y., neighborhood since hurricane Sandy. But in the comic, things are different.

“You’re seeing heroes taking action. Personally I don’t break any laws, but people in ‘Liberator’ are breaking laws.”

“I wanted to show people taking matters into their own hands,” Miner said.

The fourth issue of “Liberator,” which retails for $3.50, hit stores two weeks ago. Watch the interview with Matt below and pick up a copy at your local comic store, or request it if they don’t already carry it.
