Study Confirms Qi Kung (Chi Gong) Lowers High Blood Pressure

A recent study published in the Journal of Hypertension, confirms that Qi Gong helps to reduce cases of high blood pressure in patients with pre-hypertension and mild hypertension.

In the study entitled “568 A Randomized Controlled Trial for the Use of Qigong in the Treatment of Pre and Mild Essential Hypertension,” researchers found that blood pressure reductions occurred in the Qi Gong group and not in the control group. Systolic blood pressure reduced significantly. Diastolic blood pressure was unaffected.

Their conclusion? “Qigong appears safe and positive effect on blood pressure and health status in pre and mild hypertension patients. Further long-term studies with a larger number of subjects are warranted.”
